The Great Dalmuti was published in 1995 by Wizards of the Coast. The company was riding high on the success of Magic: the Gathering and wanted to expand and diversify. So the creator of Magic: the Gathering got his version of The Great Dalmuti published.The Great Dalmuti, as Mr. Garfield himself tells us in the introduction, is a version of an old card game. Its ancestors are either Chinese or Japanese. Its got very many names and even more versions from all over the world. Garfield just distilled it to one version and one booklet, let some artists do the packaging and put his name on it.
